As a broader range of energy solutions are incorporated into the energy mix, the need for efficient and reliable energy storage and transportation solutions is growing. In anticipation of demand, OEG North America has invested in a fleet of ISO intermodal cryogenic tanks. This technology is emerging as a critical component to support the evolving energy landscape.
OEG’s ISO intermodal cryogenic tanks are specially designed containers used for storing and transporting a wide range of cryogenic liquids and industrial gases that need to be stored at high pressure and extremely low temperatures (-80°C). The tanks are built to meet the strict International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) standards, which ensures that the technology is safe, reliable, and fit for purpose. OEG’s ISO intermodal cryogenic tanks are compatible with various modes of transport including trucks, ships, and rail, facilitating safe and secure transportation of cryogenic materials from production sites to end-users.
In the energy sector LNG is increasingly being used as an alternative to traditional fossil fuels, and its storage and transportation is vital to supporting global energy customers in the delivery of secure and sustainable energy. ISO intermodal cryogenic tanks are designed to withstand the extreme conditions that are needed to transport cryogenic materials securely, reducing the risk of leaks and accidents and providing added environmental and public health protection. The intermodal nature of the equipment incorporates standardised design features to allow easy integration with existing transportation infrastructure and seamless transfer between different modes of transport. This ISO verified, multi-modal solution helps to contain the risks related to transporting LNG cargo while managing transportation times and costs. This helps the supply chain be more effective and responsive to market demands.
In the US and globally, an array of energy sources are being included in energy security strategies. As well as broad application across the storage and transportation of various materials, the adoption of ISO intermodal cryogenic solutions is particularly advantageous for the LNG industry. The technology helps to enhance distribution infrastructure for LNG and maximise domestic energy distribution, as well as wider distribution to international markets. This aligns with production and supply targets and aligns with policies promoting energy security and independence.
OEG North America’s investment in ISO intermodal cryogenic tanks demonstrates our commitment to supporting our US customers in delivering a safe, sustainable and secure energy future, offering flexibility in how we deliver energy as demand continues to grow. This will undoubtedly become more critical as the world continues to shape a more resilient energy landscape.
