OEG and Venture Gulf Engineering (VGE), a leading specialist in container manufacturing, testing, and certification, have joined forces to support the offshore industry in Qatar. The collaboration focuses on supplying specialist logistics equipment to support the safe transportation of nitrogen (N₂), enhancing logistics capabilities in the region.
The partnership is centred around the deployment of specialist ISO cryogenic tanks designed to meet the stringent requirements for safely transporting nitrogen at low temperatures and high pressures, minimising risks to personnel and equipment. Mobilisation will be managed from VGE’s newly established facility in Qatar’s Ras Laffan industrial hub, facilitating reliable rental and integrity services and ensuring high standards of delivery and reliability for customers.
The Middle East, especially Qatar, has been seeing significant growth in its industrial and logistics sectors, with a focus on enhancing infrastructure to support large-scale projects. The demand for efficient and safe transport solutions, particularly for high-risk materials like nitrogen, is on the rise requiring increased investment in sustainable and innovative logistics solutions to keep pace with global standards.
Commenting on the announcement, Chris Kleinhans, Regional Director for OEG in the Middle East, said,
“Over the years, the relationship between OEG and VGE has led to effective collaboration in key areas and joint investments in building a robust local fleet of high-quality logistics equipment, including cargo carrying units (CCUs), tanks, and specialist modules. Since 2018, the fleet has expanded significantly, growing from 40 units to more than 2,700 units."
“The success of any strategic partnership is underpinned by the dedicated efforts of key personnel, in this case, Martin Sharp, OEG’s Operations Manager in the Middle East, and Harish Baliga, VGE’s Operations Manager. This further reinforces our commitment to building strong connections that benefit the region, based on cooperation and respect.”
The partnership between OEG and VGE aligns with broader market trends in the Middle East, where safety, reliability, and operational efficiency are prioritised. The collaboration will help to ensure the availability of ISO cryogenic tanks and other logistics equipment to meet the demands of customers and support the continued growth of the offshore industry in Qatar.
